Oklab for Substance Designer
Blending colors in RGB or HSV space often introduces unintended hue shifts or "muddy" desaturation in the mid-tones. Oklab, developed by Björn Ottosson, solves this by operating in a perceptually uniform space - accounting for how your eye interprets color.
This utility package provides an implementation of the Oklab model directly within Substance Designer’s Pixel Processor as well as a blend node made to utilize Oklab color space.
Whether you’re building UI gradients, VFX ramps, or complex layered materials, these nodes ensure your transitions maintain consistent visual weight and hue.
